This is definitely a victory, as far as all of us wild-eyed enviros are concerned. ;) We have brash young activists like Timothy DeChristopher to thank, the thousands upon thousands of "average" Americans who sent impassioned emails and whatnot to their respective representatives, and that awesome change.gov website of the Obama transition team, which allowed so many of us to air our thoughts and suggestions and bring to their attention our deepest concerns.
It's too soon to tell what exactly will happen to these lands...but I think they have a much better shot at the sort of survival many of us were hoping for. That is, pristine, undrilled, unspoiled, and still accessible for visitors to see and wander in the future. Here's the voices of the "little people"--huh, we do count, after all.
Oh YEAH baby! In the spirit of MLK and Obama's desire that we do service today, I will be donating to Dine C.A.R.E. to stop Desert Rock. Also took some stuff to thrift store and need to give to food bank. So go do what you can, Monkey-wrenchers!
